In the 80s, when I was in college—yeah, I’m a dinosaur—I played Dungeons & Dragons twice. Back then, it was all the rage. I honestly don’t know how popular it is now, but I’m sure people still play it. Polyhedral dice can still be obtained, and there are oodles of styles out there on Amazon and popular places like Dice Legend.
Though I loved faeries, gnomes, and other fantasy creatures while I was in high school, I somehow got out of the kick when I went on to college and finally was out in the working world and living on my own.
In my own spiritual/magickal practice, I don’t engage with the faerie world, and I would consider gnomes only because they are the symbol for earth. And I do use elemental energies.
In April, a year ago, I opened my new school: The Scarlet Mystic School
This was totally by accident. I often consider a lot of things, but opening up my own school with different courses was simply one I never had considered doing, until I took some courses from a business lady who is based in Australia. She had made thirteen million dollars from course creation, and she wanted to tell people how to do that too. Ah, the inspiration, not to mention that someone had pioneered a way to do it. Now, let’s be honest about this. I’m sure mileage varies. A lot!
While all that sounds wonderful, it did give me an idea. Why not try and create some courses for people. Something that might help them with self-exploration, help them in the middle of the night when they’re obsessed with a problem they want to solve—right now! Yeah, a course that could help with that.
I’m no stranger to teaching. In my younger days, I was charged with training staff and had to set up the meeting place, the people who had something to teach, and the whole program for newbies who were in our department. Fast forward to years later when I owned my own bricks and mortar store. I taught jewelry classes. I had to come up with the project, round up the supplies, create the kits, write and print up the instruction guides, and then teach the classes.
Of course, there’s the training that you do when you get new cohorts on your team at work. At any rate, let’s just say that I can do all that competently. And honestly, I enjoy it. I liked teaching other people something new or sharing knowledge. So, I spent my time studying the different teaching platforms versus simply having a password-protected page on my website. What did I like? What would students like?
I finally chose Thinkific, which is a platform I had also used as a student with another online teacher. It’s a strong platform, one of the top rated ones, and it was also easy to use, navigate, and create courses. Because Tarot is my thing (I’m a certified reader through the International Institute for Alternative Therapists), I decided to create as my first project a tarot course that had a self-coaching element. (Did I fail to mention that I had once thought about becoming a certified coach? Yes, I did, so I’m adding that now).
With this tarot course, you learn the meaning of the cards and use corresponding worksheets with guided questioning and goal setting that moves you forward. Let’s be honest about another thing: There are tons of tarot courses out there, all claiming to do different things. Some are higher priced, some are lower, and mine is $97 for a 5-hour course (psst: I’ll give you a coupon for a 55% off discount at the end of this article!)
But what about the course that I just launched? Sorry, but I had to give some history first, so you could appreciate how this whole thing got started. *wink, wink*
I had been looking at dice divination, and really couldn’t find anything much, other than the use of regular playing dice for such an activity. I didn’t like that, for some reason. So I looked for methods using polyhedral dice and simply could not find anything other than 2 methods. Wanting to be creative, I came up with my own method. I put the course together, and here we are! If you want to learn how to do divination with polyhedral dice:
Take my new course: Divination With Polyhedral Dice
Taking my courses also makes you eligible for bonus calls that will happen from time to time. As the school grows, you will meet other students, and you can all ask questions about the courses and about occult, magickal subjects in general. It will be fun.
Hope you come along with me for this journey and check out my courses. I will be adding more as I go along. I’m actually in the middle of completing another one, but got sidetracked with the one I just launched! Oh, and if you want to enjoy the tarot course at 55% off, the coupon code is: authlife at checkout.
